The „Dormition of the Virgin Mary” Church, Soleşti village, Commune Soleşti, Vaslui County (code LMI 2004: VS-II-m-A-06881.04)
Built between 1859 and 1860 by Ecaterina Rosetti-Solescu, as a court chapel, on the east side of the manor. In 1893, Gheorghe Rosetti–Solescu, her nephew, plenipotentiary minister, donated the church to the village community. It is part of the assembly of the Rosetti-Solescu mansion.
Rectangular church with semicircular altar apse, released, belfry tower on the narthex, western entry. Neoclassical structure and architectural appearance of great accuracy (triangular frontal supported on two attached pillars with Ionic base and simple capital, frameworks with round arch openings, simple moulds below the cornice). The square-section belfry tower, with three levels and hip roof, is decorated with arcading frieze above the windows. In the interior, the passage from narthex to the nave is marked by an arch. The vaults on the nave and narthex are supported on pendentives, and the semi-calotte on the altar is supported on arches.
The narthex shelters the common tomb of the seneschal Gheorghe (Iordache) Rosetti (1796-1846) and his mother, Catrina Gavriliţă Catargi. In the courtyard there is the common tomb of Ecaterina Rosetti (1800-1869) and her daughter, Elena Doamna (1825-1909) – the wife of the first ruler of the Romanian United Principalities, Alexandru Ioan Cuza (1859-1866) -, of Gheorghe C. Rosetti–Solescu (1853-1916) and his wife, Olga Rosetti, born Giers (1853–1924). The halidom keeps a rich religious inventory, donated by the founders: the iconostasis, 19th century, oil on wood, silverware and religious books.
