The construction of the building was finished during 1818-1819, being under the exhortation of Ioan Dimitriu, citizen from din Buiucani, Chişinău and inaugurated by the bishop Gavriil Bănulescu Bodoni with the saint titulars of the Great Holly Saint Voivodes Michael and Gabriel.
In 1861 in Lăpuşna Village, there was opened a religious primary school having as teachers the priest and the mentor.
The peasants’ life was very difficult. In order to send their children to school, they had to pay a 183 rouble fee, but not all of them could afford it. During 1872-1874 there was cholera that took many lives in Lăpuşna. The history of the village clearly presents the numerous difficulties the villagers had to pass over: wars, hunger, hard work, sufference. But they kept their souls holly due to the priest and the church.
The Lăpuşna church is related with the churches built in the 16th century in the Romanian Country through its architectural plan.
